One of America's fastest rising stars, LESLIE JORDAN, will be bringing his anticipated new stage show My Trip Down the Pink Carpet to The McKinney Avenue Contemporary on Friday, October 24th at 8:00 P.M. and Saturday, October 25th at 2:00 P.M. & 7:00 P.M. The diminutive star of the stage, screen and television will traverse the country with fresh and heartfelt autobiographical material. An acclaimed Emmy award-winning actor, Jordan returns to the stage using the strength of his unique character and convictions. His adroit Southern branded humor and innate storytelling abilities will bring Jordan legions of new fans. Leslie is known for his numerous television appearances, not only as a series regular but also as a guest star. Along with his portrayal of the irascible nemesis to Karen Walker as Beverley Leslie on Will & Grace, Jordan has memorable guest stints in television's series such as Boston Legal, Ugly Betty and Reba. Jordan's current run in the limelight includes the premiere of SORDID LIVES, THE PREQUEL reprising his role as Brother Boy. The Logo Channel is airing the ten-episode follow up throughout late summer and fall. His one-man autobiographical stage renderings Like a Dog on Linoleum and Hysterical Blindness and other Southern Tragedies That Have Plagued My Life Thus Far hailed Jordan with well-deserved accolades. For this production, Jordan adapted for the stage his first book tentatively titled My Trip Down the Pink Carpet which is an autobiographical compilation of witticisms and wisdoms collected throughout his life. The "trip" is saturated with star encounters; BETTY WHITE, CLORIS LEACHMAN, MEGAN MULALLHY, DELTA BURKE, BILLY BOB THORTON and ROBERT DOWNEY JR., making his written journey a true cause celebre. The narrative voice is unmistakably vintage Jordan, doing what he does best: traveling down his destined path without apologies and regrets. Jordan narrates his story filled with raucous humor, wild abandon, trials, tribulations and anecdotal tidbits. The tale is painfully honest but forthrightly shared with the integrity only a man of his spirituality and resolve would possess. Tickets for the McKinney Avenue Contemporary engagement of My Trip Down the Pink Carpet will become available through the theatre box office.
